Abstract: The weight ratio of carbon content at each original position of billet was suggested to express the degreeratio of median value (K) at 95 % of confidence limit of weight ratio, were provided for practical billetThe quality differences among the billet samples were explained reasonably by above method.Thus, this technique can be used to judge the quality of billet samples.

Abstract:

Billet optimization can greatly improve the forming quality of the transitional region in the isothermalmay be deteriorated by uncontrollable factors, such as the manufacturing tolerance of the preforming billetThus, a dual-response surface method (RSM)-based robust optimization of the billet was proposed to addressmean and standard deviation of the die underfilling rate by considering the size parameters of the billetSubsequently, an optimum solution was derived to achieve the robust optimization of the billet.

Original position statistic distribution analysis (OPA) on the quality of mould steel billet

Abstract:

Through the analysis of mould steel from different sources by the original position statistic distribution analysis (OPA), new information on the position, state and content distribution of each chemical component in the cross section of mould steel was obtained in a relatively wide range. As a result, the differences among the parameters of mould steel from different sources were uantitatively characterized, including the biggest segregation, the statistic degree of segregation, statistic degree of accord with contents (statistic degree of homogeneity), the statistic density as well as the content, variety and statistic size distribution of the inclusions. The experimental results could be used as reference for analyzing the quality variance of mould steel from different sources.
